Laser Dentistry, Mission KS

smiling womanLaser dentistry is changing the way we treat many conditions at Keith & Associates Dentistry. From gum disease to cold sores, we are able to rehabilitate, reshape and renew tissues in the mouth in less time and with very little discomfort.

What is laser dentistry?

Lasers create energy in the form of light, and are used for a very wide, increasing variety of procedures in all healthcare industries. They offer precision treatment for many conditions without the side effects that traditional surgical (“cut and sew”) methods do. Lasers can be used to treat cold sores, gum disease, to re-contour the gums and for frenectomies.

Benefits of Laser Dentistry

  • Less invasive
  • Less or no bleeding
  • Nearly pain-free
  • Less time in the chair
  • Faster recovery

Laser Cold Sore Treatment Mission (and Canker Sores)

Cold sores are found on or around the lips and are caused by the herpes simplex virus. Canker sores (“Aphthous Ulcers”) are benign ulcers in the mouth that can occur for a variety of reasons, including irritation from trauma or acidic and spicy foods to the lining of the mouth. Both conditions are painful and both are very common. Luckily, we are now able to treat cold sores and cancer sores with dental lasers to offer quick relief and aid in their healing right here in our office. If you feel a cold sore or canker sore coming on, call us at Keith + Associates Dentistry Phone Number 913-384-0044 for quick relief.

Re-contouring with Lasers

No longer forced to cut with sharp instruments, lasers are a much-improved method when it comes to the re-contouring of the soft tissues (gums) of the mouth. There are many dental procedures that require reshaping of the gums, and lasers allow us to do so in a less-invasive manner.

NV® PRO3 Microlaser
